thanks to and i am finally exploring world of raw files. photo shop cs2 raw plugin is really awesome!! thank you *Alter8Ego for all the explanation. :)

but why do i see a little different contrast and saturation in the photoshop and when i save it on the hard disc?

this picture is part of some commercial study.... i dont know... i was inspired very much by and they are both very very good.

so i hope you like it or maybe you can help me...

see ya! ;)

I don't know why I have this fear of RAW because it takes so long to edit :((((

I love the brightness here, great colors.

I've tried shooting RAW before, but can't seem to open it, I've Photoshop CS2, and when i try opening the files it says, 'Could not open your request because it is not the right kind of document'. I should prolly ask this in the forums.

Anyways, does it make ALOT of difference shooting RAW?

Great shot. Love the tones. Expression is awesome.
Lighting is superb. Now, THIS IS 'art photography'!! :giggle:

yeah ask in the forums.
difference? big indeed; larger prints, more control over the highlight and shadows, better quality...
thanks anna.

Wow. I can see why RAW is such a good thing now. I've never ever used it. Not planning to anytime soon. Maybe when CS3 comes out, and I buy me a ginormous memory card. I usually take about 400 JPEG's when I shoot. I'd get about 75 RAW's with my card.

i´m also surprised you didnt shoot raw before??!?!?!?!

well with the color problem: if you choose adobergb as your color space (which is the way to go) and you save it as a jpg, you MUST convert it to the srgb color space before, otherwise the image will look, well, not good at all :)

edit -> convert to profile -> srgb as destination...

nice image btw :)

PS: do you know the adobe raw tricks with the ALT button??

I have the same problem with my photoshop 7.0 that i use ona more reg basis than 8.0. My 8.0 Shows thigns pretty good not much of a difference than what Windows Picture Viewer(my monitor) shows than in photoshop. But my Photoshop 7.0 shows things with less contrast than what my monitor shows and waht Deviant art would show. So i have to go to "View>;Proof Setup click on Monitor RGB and than go back to View> and click on "proof colors" to get it to show what it would actually look like.

On a better note, when i calibrated my monitor properly (i had it uncalibrated for the longest time ...stupid me) I put the color spaces that i saved from my Calibration to be linked with my photoshops so generally when i use CS and when i had CS2 it showed things DEAD On but my Photoshop 7.0 is still buggy.

Hopefully that helps.

and onto the critique.

I love the vivid colors you produced here, they really act on the photograph and make it something for sure. The kids expression just feeds off the rest of the photography, nice and crips and a photograph well shot, great work!

ALL RAW ALL THE TIME!

It rocks!

Really good portrait. Lately I have been on a big portrait kick.

Portraits are so special and very hard to do well.
